  In Daytona Beach, you'll find everything you need to have a great Florida vacation in the Daytona Beach area. The "World's Most Famous Beach" is 23 miles of beautiful white sandy beaches. We're famous the world over dating back from the very early 1900's when cars were first raced on the beach. Speeds were incredible then, the top speed in 1902 was an amazing 57 miles per hour.

The last land speed record set on the beach was in 1935 when Sir Malcolm Campbell drove the world famous "Bluebird" at 276 miles per hour on this beach! Today driving on the hard-packed sand is allowed on 18-miles of this Florida beach during daytime hours and speeds are only 10 miles per hour. Five miles of this Florida beach are now reserved for visitors who wish not to have to share the beach with cars.

Daytona Beach is famous for many other things besides NASCAR and racing. There are the many very friendly and beautiful people that are always enjoying activities at the beach. With 23 miles to play on people have found an almost unlimited amount of activities. Sunbathing, surfing, frisbee, sandcastle building, people watching, volleyball, swimming, running, bicycling, car cruising, bikini watching, kite flying, picnicking, riding floats, relaxing, riding motorbikes, sitting under umbrellas, looking for shells, sailing, jet skiing, skim boarding, fishing, enjoying beauty contests, eating "beach dogs" or snow-cones, walking the boardwalk, playing video games, enjoying the skyride, sail boarding, jogging, enjoying free concerts, comparing tans, meeting new friends, or take a romantic walk on the beach at night with the moonlight sparkling on the water, etc.... Whew! And we haven't even left the beach yet!

When you have had enough fun at the beach you can also watch NASCAR racing at Daytona International Speedway, motorcycle racing, go kart racing, go deep sea fishing, play championship golf, enjoy world class dining, shop till you drop at great specialty shoppes, visit museums, enjoy professional sports and entertainment, go to the theater, and then you just might want to take a short drive to some other Florida attractions and vacation spots.

New Smyrna Beach, Fl:
New Smyrna Beach is a beautiful city that is nestled among the moss-draped trees along the shores of the picturesque Indian River in Volusia County. It’s located on the central east coast of Florida, completely surrounded by bodies of water; the Atlantic Ocean to the east, the intracoastal Waterway to the west and Mosquito Lagoon in between the two. New Smyrna Beach is definitely a laid-back coastal community; free of the crowds and noise that plague other Florida beaches.

Outdoor recreation is a way of life in New Smyrna Beach, with everything from swimming and scuba diving to golf and hiking. However, the Florida beaches are the top draw for this beautiful island town. It has more than 13 miles of pristine white sand Florida beaches with an additional 24 miles of coastline at nearby Canaveral National Seashore, which is located on the south end of the island.

New Smyrna Beach was voted “Best Beach in Florida,” by readers of Florida Monthly Magazine. Visitors and residents love sunning and beach-combing on the sandy Florida beaches, many enjoy windsurfing, sailing, surf fishing and other activities. It’s also a great place for those who want to learn more about Florida’s diverse ecology, where boat tours are available of the Indian River Lagoon, and with the Canaveral National Seashore’s dunes, lagoon and salt marsh and several endangered species of birds and animals. New Smyrna Beach also offers visitors access to professional sports, cultural and recreational activities and world-class attractions.

The area is dotted with museums and performing arts centers and the weekends are filled with festivals and concerts. New Smyrna Beach was also named one of the “Top Small Cities for the Arts,” and is home to the Atlantic Center for the Arts and the Little Theater of New Smyrna Beach. Nearby Daytona Beach has live celebrity performances at several venues in that city. Hotels and restaurants in New Smyrna Beach are plentiful and offer a wide range of choices, everything from fast food to some of the finest dining on the Florida coast. All of these amenities, topped by gorgeous  Florida beaches and a near perfect climate, make New Smyrna Beach a great vacation destination.

Sebastian Inlet State Park, Fl: Cocoa Beach Orlando Port Canaveral Daytona Beach New Smyrna Beach.
Located on the tip of two barrier islands and surrounded by water, Sebastian Inlet State Park has three miles of beautiful Atlantic Ocean beaches. Other Sebastian Inlet State Park beaches are perfect for swimming, surfing, exploring and viewing wildlife, making it an eco-tourists delight.

When you're not exploring the nature trails, you can swim, shell and sunbathe. Other outdoor highlights include Surfing, you'll find some of the best surfing on the East Coast here. Monster Hole, on the south side, is a hotspot for big, long rides. Also, Boating, canoeists and kayakers have access to the mangrove-lined Indian River Lagoon. If fishing is more your style, the waters surrounding Sebastian Inlet provide fresh and salt water for varied fishing opportunities anglers will love.

This undeveloped area offers Florida wildlife as its main draw. Bottle-nose dolphins, manatees and more than 180 species of birds grace its waters and shores. January and February bring rare right baleen whales close to the coastline. With little to disturb the peace, nightlife here consists of beautiful sunsets, stargazing and campfires, set to the music of crashing waves.
